One of the ADHD traits I never recognised in myself so never really thought to get diagnosed is "impulsivity", because the way it's constructed is Just Doing Things For No Goddamn Reason, but in reality it's more like you do a thing for a really fucking stupid reason.
Like when I was a kid, I burned my entire palm by grabbing a light bulb that had been on for hours. I didn't do it for no reason. I was doing Science. I wanted to discover exactly what would happen if I did it.
