I had the opportunity last night to gain experience with Python on FreeBSD (14.1): I tried to pip install scipy.
With little familiarity in both, I found myself pulled into the seemingly infinite event horizon of module and package dependencies.
Eventually, I found that BSD in general seems to be a second-class citizen in Python - the number of crucial pre-compiled wheels for it are not great.
I'm going to have to move my project onto Linux, to preserve my sanity.
