Money unlike food has no satiety. This fact has caused me to suggest the following tax:
each year, or 6 months, 0.1% (or as appropriate) of total wealth is used to purchase equal measure of dry rice and beans, which is then prepared as a simple dish. The tax payer then has one day to consume as much as possible on their own.
The uneaten proportion of the total is their tax rate, and the unconsumed part is fed to people.
