One other thing I've seen online about SVB is that they like to lay their eggs near the base of the plant, yet in my experience they will actually lay eggs anywhere on the plant, usually solitary eggs but occasionally in clusters. I haven't found a single egg near the base of any of my plants (not to say they haven't; I just haven't found any).
I usually find the eggs on leaf stems, occasionally on young fruiting bodies, and on the bottom of runners (along the ground).
