Empfehlenswertes Übersichtswerk von Chris Gosden (Archäologie-Prof Oxford): »The History of Magic. From Alchemy to Witchcraft, from the Ice Age to the Present« (2020). Fehlende Index-Einträge zu ›Mysterien‹ und ›Kunst‹ so ziemlich einziger echter Mangel für mich. Markiert immer klar Faktendarlegung und ›wissenschaftliche Phantasie‹ und ist soweit ich seh erstes und einziges populär-akademisches Weltgeschichte-Buch zum Thema.
