I just tried HDR for the first time and it's amazing but I would way sooner give up HDR than give up high refresh rate. If I watch the HDR content on a non-HDR screen it doesn't stand out to me, and only really becomes apparent if I put the displays side-by-side, whereas a 60Hz or lower refresh rate immediately stands out to me even without a high refresh rate reference.
