I dislike the notion people have about AC4s story that the corporations feel too distant, there's not enough explained and so on.
The feeling of being distant from everything, how society has been driven into a corporation dystopia and the truth of all events being elusive is part of the story, it's designed to be that way and imo it works perfectly.
