I've been on a "Health & Safety for Managers" course today. One statistic that struck me was that 135 people died at work last year, but about 13,000 from work related illnesses. Most of my team work outside, on roads and car parks - am I fulfilling my duties if I don't demand measures to cut out the diesel fumes etc that we know are harmful to health? Is this going to end up being looked at in the future how we look at asbestos now?
