The third time starting from scratch worked! Download speed varied between a few 100kbps and 6.6mbps. At 85% the download stalled. I paused and restarted it and then it finished quickly. Verification also succeeded and now the installation is running.
Curious what went wrong. Neither #eOS nor the internet seem to know of any problems.
