Now at another of Audrey's talks at #useR2024, this time about the journey as RSE at Roche. She started from spaghetti code, but inherited one package and started refactoring it for improving it. Senior developers wrote an onboarding process: branches, checks, documention, debugging ("finding a needle in a haystack systematically"), design logs. A long lists of checks are condensed into 6 points. This also lead to better statistical knowledge (checking correctness).
