I wonder if tinnitus impacts your ability to play music because you always have the pitch set in your ears and so you'll get discordances in the music.
I've never had great pitch anyway which is a bit of a challenge on cello. Though my guitar sounds out of tune to me even though the tuner says it's fine so I don't know.
