My wife played a mediation video, and it was sadly hilarious. It went, "You're a human-being, not a human-doing(gag!). We've developed a need to 'do things' in order to be loved. If you were good at sports, or fitness, or academics in school, and you're teacher or parents praised you, and learned that 'doing' generates praise and love."
We were like, "good at... nope, nope, nope, wait wait other kids' parents paid attention to them? I think this mediation isn't for low-income housing kids."
