Yesterday I met my best friend for dinner, and she is a highly intelligent and STEM-educated person. We eventually landed on AI as a subject.
We discussed worries about climate implications, AI eventually training itself on faulty AI-generated content, legal implications, (ab)use of AI in healthcare, and whatnot.
It's sobering that she also isn't enthusiastic about the state of AI, despite operating in a different field than I do and also being smarter than me.
I'm just thinking about it.
