Writing some #RStats code to work with geospatial data, and I learned about st_read and st_as_sf:
If you have a CSV with a column with geo data, you can read it and transform it into a spatial object.
Example:
-Points
localidad <- st_as_sf(Censos_de_vegetacion_Localidades, coords=c("longitudLocalidad","latitudLocalidad"), crs=4326)
The columns with lat and long must be numeric.
-Polygons
departamentos <- st_as_sf(departamentos, wkt = "geomTDepartamento")
WKT data looks like “POINT(x y)”
