While I'm on this topic. Here is something about #GTK that I learned while working on my app: Don't ignore Gio.File, and don't try to be smarter by using file functions from the programming language.
While working on the submission for Flathub, I had to rewrite my file logic to use Gio.File instead of Rust's std::fs functions, because in a sandbox environment I was getting file permission errors. It turns out that std::fs could not transparently bypass /run/user/1000, but Gio.File did it.
