Okaj so picture this, when playing video you want to disable the display going to sleep right?
So on #Linux you can do that using 'setterm', 'xss', 'xdg-desktop-portal', 'dbus' and 'systemd-inhibit'.
Both xdg-desktop-portal and dbus work by listening for messages from applications. However not every application sends out both.
Worse none of these systems talk to eachother so you always have to query multiple to get an idea.
