I suspect that one can implement a JS-free (at least after the init) Lottie animations this way. Global time variable + clamping (`calc(clamp(0, var(—t) - 0.25, 0.25) * 4)`) to create subanimations seems sufficient for most complicated animations.
The complicated bit is figuring out how to do SVG shape changes without... changing the SVG. My idea was that it has to create *a lot* of hidden SVG subparts in advance, and use occlusion and transforms to its benefit.
