I get the impression that :nixos: #NixOS shines brightest with compiled stuff. #C, #Rust, whatever. Fixed library locations, rewriting the rpath directly within the executables, etc. all work best with binaries. With dynamic, interpreted languages like #bash or #Python nix needs to do quite some acrobatics in the form of PATH-setting wrapper scripts or approaches like #resholve to get it right. And as the #nix store is read-only, you don't have a way to print-debug such plaintext code.
