As the years went on, I got Intel Mac mini and MacBook in 2006, and another Mac mini in 2009. All this time, the cracks in Apple's walled garden were getting under my skin (Mail.app going binary inbox for Tiger is one)
Also, 2003 was BEFORE Ubuntu showed up
By 2011, I'd had it, so I built a computer and dropped Ubuntu L on it. They'd made massive desktop improvements and I was battling more of the usual Linux things ("dual screens aren't working right!")
