One thing I really enjoy about the modern web is that media outlets use CMS to create their web articles. Most of them generate unique URLs by putting the entire synopsis of the page in the file name.
When someone posts a link you can just read the URL and get the gist of the article without having to open the ad-infested multi-megabyte mess of javascript and tracking cookies. The article will mostly just be between 2 and 4 repetitions of the same sentence plus a stock photo anyway. 👍
