The main problem with Netflix is that shows have only a few episodes in which to gell. When I look at long running shows, they all took more than one season to really start working, and the Netflix model is too fickle to allow that. The result is that it's not worth getting invested in new shows until you know they will survive, which of course, if enogh people do that the show won't survive.
TLDR; Netflix can't be trusted
