Was reminded yesterday of the awful months of Sept/Oct 2016, when I lost my job and my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in a 24-hour period. The specific memory that came back was her 2nd mastectomy. I had picked up a remote contract gig quickly, but of course didn't tell anybody what we were going through. So I was writing a web design proposal on my laptop in the waiting room while she was in surgery. That proposal was probably not my best work.
