I have been looking into Zig lately because many people mentioned it’s going to kill Rust.
Well, it has a very long way to go. Even if it does end up implementing runtime checks for UAF / stack UAF, it will still remain insanely unsafe to use.
People praise that it’s better than unsafe Rust. Yeah, probably. But what do you do with 99% of the rest of the code we write? That is, safe Rust? :)
