I finished reading François Fleuret's Little Book of Deep Learning. Recommended for any engineers out there that want to peek at what this #machinelearning stuff is all about.
Yes, there is some math, but there are also a lot of diagrams. It's a quick read with succinct writing, no nonsense. Key terminology is highlighted so you can investigate subjects further if you feel like it.
