But what ends up happening, and far too often it seems, is that I end up consuming not only my own but also other colleagues' and friends' time on things that would make it simpler, especially in my eyes, but that don't matter *enough to everyone else*. And not even enough to have some discussion about which approach might be marginally more beautiful.
It's important to me that I value to the time of those that I'm working with, but that value is in constant conflict with the pull to elegance.
