I was wrong: My converted electric '76 Kawasaki KZ400-D3 doesn't have a solid 50 mile range, rather, it has a solid 60 mile range! It's a 48vdc system, ergo 48v is ~50% state of charge. The 44.4v on the meter is with the main power contractor engaged. The contractor solenoid causes a voltage drop of ~0.8v so the resting voltage is ~45.2v which, for an NMC-based Li-ion Battery, is ~10% SOC.

Color photo of the dash panel on an old, 1970s era motorcycle. On the left is a round white on black speedometer indicating 0mph, 5580.9 total miles, and 60.2 trip miles. On the right is a round white on black tachometer, except the tachometer needle has been removed and a rectangular volt meter has been fitted inside the housing under the glass cover. The meter is on indicating 44.4 in blue digital numbers. A high beam light and stop lamp are at the bottom on the gauge and both lights are off. In the middle is a rectangular light bar with a yellow turn light at the top, green neutral light below that, and red oil light below that. All three lights are off. A key switch is in the middle showing 'off' and 'ignition' and an unlabeled third dot on the right. Parts of the two turn indicator lights are seen on the left and right. The top of the chrome headlight is at the top of the frame and a small portion of the handlebars is at the bottom.

Color photo of a classic Japanese commuting motorcycle for the 1970s. It's a copper brown color. On the gas tank it says, "Kawasaki." On a side plate under the front of the long black bench seat it says, "KZ400." It has chrome fenders and a chrome rack in the back. There's a large white box where the gasoline engine use to be. On the side it says, "Danger 1.21 Gigawatt Geissler Tube Flux Capacitor." A radiation sign appears under the word "Danger."
