We had a general election in the Netherlands last year in November 2023. Over a half year of negotiations later, Our new governing coalition cabinet was installed this week. Just days before the new UK cabinet, election um, checking calendar, um yesterday.
Long negotiations are normal here. The new coalition is already infighting on debut day. That is far less common.
I prefer proportional representation over first past the post, but speed isn't an advantage.
