The "rm -rf $STREAMROOT/*" "bug", while the code might be poorly designed if ${STEAMROOT} is ever allowed to be null, might be a nothingburger if "rm" hasn't been altered from its modern state. (i.e., "--preserve-root" is the default; assuming GNU rm)
It may be a problem if "--preserve-root" literally only applies when the file argument is "/" (so "/*" would defeat it), but I'm too much of a fraidy cat to test this. ;o)
