When I was very small I spent a lot of time at my grandmother's house. At bedtime, with me lying in the rollaway bed beside her bed, the lights turned out, crisp white sheets pulled up to my chin, and the sound of train whistles in the distance, she'd ask me "What do you want to talk about?" and I'd always answer "Elephants!"
I'm glad to see that modern researchers are still exploring this topic:
"Elephant trunk wrinkles: A mathematical model of function and form"
