Big AI players might not worry too much about model collapse. They likely have the untainted "genesis corpus" (from before the internet was poisoned) and can retrain on that, feeding in hand curated newer updates to keep it relevant.
Model collapse effectively shuts out new players (competition) in the field though, so could actually be a good thing for the established vendors 🥹
