Edlin was the original line editor for DOS.
Gregory Pietsch created the #opensource FreeDOS Edlin, with some modern twists like relative line addressing.
I use Edlin to edit short things like BAT files — very useful if you want to capture the commands that are on your screen, while you can still see them.
