This is a fantastic article on "HTML web components” by @scottjehl
These ideas have bounced off of me a couple of times. Scott found a couple of really piercing insights, e.g. how the specificity means you can think of these like real HTML elements. Also: when to put stuff in the contructor (and the type: module implication.)
