A quick reminder of some Mastodon workings which are so unlike how other social media works that it merits occasional repeating.
When you *favorite* (like) a post you are telling the poster (and no one else) that you like it.
When you *boost* a post, you are telling your followers that you think they might want to see it, too. Boosting makes the connections that makes Mastodon so interesting to its users.
