Forget the bonfire.
Why do the few own almost everything while the many own almost nothing?
Why does the thought provoking question sound like this is the unquestioned accepted fact and only the bonfire needs to be thought about?
Bonfire changes nothing for the village unless it's instead of the agreed on annual grain sale the village was looking forward to, but that the bonfire changes nothing without a skipped delivery isn't acknowledged in that question.
