Seeing some of the posts on Mastodon on AI bots excessively scraping their sites - it's definitely not so fun over the past 12 months in trying to host sites with lots of content.
ClaudeBot was so aggressive against one of our sites it took it down. Entirely abusive behaviour, scraping from a large range of IPs at a rate which was excessive, and getting stuck in a loop. Easiest solution was to outright block it, which we did immediately for that site.
