A guilty pleasure of mine is spinning up fresh little AWS EC2 instances, trying out some new operating system or server software for a bit, then booping the whole instance into /dev/null and never needing to think about it again. What I do *not* enjoy is paying money to do that.
So, new experiment: I grabbed an 8 year old Dell PowerEdge small office server from RePC, am putting Proxmox on it, and I’m going to see if I can recreate that EC2-as-OS-playground experience at home.
