It's funny how running `strace firefox` (ok, `firefox-esr`, in my case) replicates the feeling of having a clicky hard disk.
(I'm trying to troubleshoot why opening firefox on this debian box hangs for several seconds. I can confirm through strace that it *really* is sitting there and doing nothing for several seconds while starting up, but I can't ascertain *why*)
