Look across a random residential canal branching off the Intercoastal water way, Surfside Beach TX. Background is a decidedly normal view of a lovely upper 6 figure/lower 7 figure home — one of many in a row of 6000ft^2 lots. Mid ground is a water way (I tell you here that this is a sediment laden canal). Foreground is a roof… on first glance it appears intact, but on further inspection, there are some missing / damaged bits.

Okay… last photo was deceiving… roof didn’t look SO bad… here the asphalt / tar strips are torn off to reveal a segment of roofless plywood . No obvious from photo, but I tell you here this is a regular old home in Surfside Beach, Texas, post July 2024 Beryl.
