Progress! It has finally gotten to the point where up to a certain point in the code, all data arrays in both the #Python and #JuliaLang versions of the code match (exported as GDAL rasters, they are binary equal). This has required some work on both sides of the code, so even if worst comes to worst, at least the original code has seen some improvements.
The actual simulations results are still significantly different, so the investigation isn't finished yet.
