We are now on our (almost) completely car-free vacation. Neither my wife or I have ever owned a car. But we used to rent a car for our vacation at the destination. However, we've been focusing more and more on things to do by bus and on foot. Last year we were in Normandy and used 60l in total.
This year, we did not rent a car. We took the train to Oberstdorf (last leg with a Diesel lok, not electrified, what’s up with that?!). Here, we do hikes that we can reach on foot or by bus.
