Alicia, frühere Synchronschwimmerin und Performance-Künstlerin, arbeitete in zwei Jobs, um ihren "außer Kontrolle geratenen Kauf-Fimmel" zu befriedigen, weil sie dachte, es sei normal als "erfolgreiche Erwachsene".
Nach 10 Jahren mit Phasen des Entrümpelns lebt sie minimalistisch, ohne Möbel, sie besitzt weder Fernseher, noch Computer oder Internet (lediglich ein iPhone).
Ihre Garderobe umfasst ~23 Kleidungsstücke, ihren ganzen Besitz hat sie in 15 Minuten in ihrem VW Beetle verstaut.
