And to avoid misunderstandings: this is not at all a critique of any constructivism, however radical. You know that if you know me. And I see no problem in that. Also there is no nature to rediscover, only more nature to be fed to culture. Not implying that there is no material world - I guess it is what ultimately decides whether something is possible or not, but any claim, including this one, any epistemology, happens on cultural grounds. I just see an error in attempts of representing nature, letting things or nature speak, in other terms and perspectives than human ones. It is the intellectual repetition of the common "the world is dying" - that is nonsense. The world as we see and like it might die. Again the above applies.
An organism that operates in reflexive, semiotic systems might have no other choice than let their realm of symbolic operation, of culture, grow indefinitely. And I think it would be the fairest and most useful, too, to keep that in mind. There is no escape.
