Die Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery hat ein Foto von Dolley Madison, der ersten bekannten Aufnahme einer First Lady, für 456.000 Dollar bei Sotheby’s erworben. Die Daguerreotypie wurde um 1846 aufgenommen, als Madison über 70 Jahre alt war.
