On average, 113 protests are happening each month. 86% of all were anti-war and anti-Netanyahu.
The newest is from Friday when an estimated 500,000 people took to the streets, the largest protest in Israel ever. With a population of 9.9mio, that half a million is quite impressive.
Also, last "Monday, Israel’s largest trade union called for a general strike".
Hope they don't stop.
In 1989, East Germans started with weekly Monday protests on Sept 4.
That and of course all the dissidents fleeing via Hungary, put enough pressure on government so that, in the press conference on November 9, they made this one but crucial mistake that brought the wall down.
The reason for all this had occurred in May 1989, 3 months before the first Monday Protest: falsified election results. Activists had counted the ballots and compared the figures to official numbers. This proven misconduct spread slowly, mouth-to-mouth, not via newspapers.
I can't imagine Israel's officials pulling a Belarus on these protestors. So if they keep up the pressure, it should eventually lead to Netanyahu going to jail, hopefully via The Hague.
