Yesterday, you might have heard the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, announce she's going to take away the Winter Fuel Payment from older people like me who aren't receiving Pension Credit. Living on a tight budget means that every pound counts, so hearing this news has made me worry about what the winter might bring.
As well as people like me who just miss out, across the UK up to 1.2 million people are eligible to receive Pension Credit but don't get it. What this means is that now, on top of not receiving this life-changing income, they also won't receive the Winter Fuel Payment. There's a risk this will plunge thousands and thousands of older people further into poverty.
