I'm glad that Harris is the presidential candidate. I really hope she gets it.
The fact that she chooses a vice presidential candidate who is both competent and from the left is even better.
But I'm still terrified that that will all be overshadowed by the events in the middle east of the next week or so.
As long as there is any real threat to Israel, Biden will keep shipping weapons. And Netanyahu will keep provoking Iran until it starts a major war - most likely this time, but if not, the next time.
It's hard to see how Harris can maintain any momentum in that scenario. Everyone who said they wouldn't vote for Genocide Joe would have to conclude the same about his vice president.

We (UK) did vote out our far right filth, but after years of scapegoating rhetoric their footsoldiers are busy burning mosques and hotels (used to house asylum seekers because the previous government refused to process their claims).
