I never used autocorrect, but I did use correction suggestions for a long time and that did quite some damage.
At least the German dictionary is really bad on Android and underlines all verbs in a specific form and almost all compound nouns as false.
And some of that really got to me and I unlearned a lot of grammar and vocabulary in the German language.
Now that I don't have different dictionaries anymore, I also no longer need the language switch and what's best: I can have the qwertz keyboard, that I'm used to all the time and the umlauts (äöü) are always the first characters suggested when I long press a o or u.
It also seems that another issue I was having is now gone: Whenever I used "quotation marks", the keyboard would sneak in a space before the ending quotation mark that I definitely didn't press. No idea why though.
Anyway, from now on, all my typos will be my own "mistakes".
