This story about Elon personally restricting Kamala's account on X is a 5-alarm fire for people like me who have been absolutely screaming about this exact scenario happening since the day he bought the platform.
Large organizations that would be considered enemies by Elon (eg Democrats, climate activism orgs, gender/sexuality activism orgs, etc) NEED to start building out their presence on the fediverse IN PARALLEL with their current platforms on X.
I'm not saying that we need these organizations to jump ship on X overnight, because there's no lifeboat to jump into.
What they need to do is start building the goddamn lifeboat, life they should have done on Day 1 of Elon's tenure.
