In Ontario, we have state sanctioned monopolies that have rotted the brain so hard that nobody thinks twice about how it's nearly impossible to send a letter without walking through a privately owned Shoppers Drug Mart (30% market share), owned by the same man who owns Loblaws and all its offshoot brands which also account for about 30% of the grocery market.
The corruption is so brazen that Shoppers got vaccines from the Ford government before family doctors did. His pharmacists also get paid $75 per diagnosis of a minor ailment like a cough or cold while family doctors make $38 per visit.
Brazen corruption perpetuated by a near monopoly that has the tacit approval of the state.
And this my friends, is what a conservative government tries to conserve.
