In a society and structure such as the US, not providing housing to your child beyond adolescence is a cruel treatment. With an ever-present threat to their life and the rising cost of simply existing outstrips the already high tuition costs that come with a inaccessibly complex world.

Take for example, my quarter costs for next year. What's the highest? The needs. Not the wants.

For 5,400 USD, I could build:
-A whole new Ebike
-A new mid-to-high end computer
-A sine wave controller for my electric utility car
-A hydraulic house leveler (my house is sinking due to seismic activity)

But food? Rent? Gas? Repairs?

Those things are non-negotiable. Even the poorest, most exploited countries still need to eat, sleep, hydrate, and keep things working. Even gasoline is a given in most countries I've seen, unfortunately.

In any sanely designed country, a bakfiet-like bike and a decent apartment wouldn't cost half the money it does here in 'Murica.

You could smoothly transition from plaza to plaza and pick up everything you need along the way in that comparatively utopian world with no more than a bucket bike and some bags. Rent would be cheap, if not free for those who seek to aid humanity. Food would be a basic human right.

But no, none of this is rational, sane, logical, or good. We're in neoliberal hell, and casting your family out to the wolves doesn't help anyone but the rulers of your misery.
